All Life is Beautiful

I believe that we, as custodians of our beautiful planet, have a responsibility to support all life forms in the most benevolent way, and to learn from nature the magnificent collaboration that takes place on all levels and in all realms. We, as custodians need to be kind and thoughtful, non-judgmental and generous of spirit and in so doing create a paradigm which will spread in time and be shared by all humanity. This is our duty as sentient beings.. :))

Earth School. A tough gig!

I’m sure from time to time we’ve all said to ourselves. What th…! What’s going on? I didn’t sign up for this and what’s happening to me now is sooo tough! Stop the world, I want to get off! But as every athlete knows, ‘no pain, no gain’. It’s a universal challenge and ‘Earth School’ is the perfect place for growth, spiritually and emotionally. Of course, we DID sign up for this experience and come what may, we will overcome all obstacles. The universe never gives us more than we are capable of handling and all of us have come through tough times, dusted ourselves off and got on with life regardless of the challenges we’ve faced. That’s the nature of the human spirit. Tenacious and resourceful! So, regardless of the challenges we may be facing, simply trust that we’re fully supported by the universe in every endeavour we undertake! Faith and courage!

Let’s ‘think’ ourselves to glowing good health!

So today, I thought I’d share my personal daily visualisation which has kept me young and fit all these years. Of course, it’s based on belief. You know, that human attribute which literally creates our personal reality. And knowing as I do that every atom and molecule in my body is there to afford healing, harmony and balance, I breathe deeply in and as I do, I visualise all my cells as pulsating circles of healing light working seamlessly together to fix any health issues while removing all impurities with every outward breath. So with eyes closed, I breath deeply in and out until I feel totally refreshed. Please try it and let me know if this works for you too. xxxx :))

So, what is a ‘belief’?

Many would say my beliefs are “my truth” and that is certainly correct. But as I said yesterday, they are not just truths for us, but they are actually creating our reality in the physical sense as well! As hard as it is to hear, my belief (that word again!) is we are actually responsible for everything that happens to us and all happenings are a direct result of our beliefs. If that can be accepted, then if we change a belief, we also change the outcome and we will have removed a lens colouring the view in that certain direction.

I appreciate that many rail against this idea of ‘total responsibility’, wanting to place the blame for their situation on others. But can placing blame elsewhere actually change anything for the better? The answer is no. When WE take responsibility and control of our thoughts and beliefs, real change is inevitable! So, for those of you interested in embracing this philosophy, this is how it’s done.

HOW TO CHANGE UNWANTED BELIEFS

STEP 1: Now, changing unwanted beliefs does take a little work, but the benefits are so profound, I encourage you all to give it a go! Just find a quiet space away from all distractions and start by writing down what you consider to be your core beliefs. Start by asking yourself questions like “what am I afraid of and why?” “Do I like people?” “Am I likable?” and so on. As you do this fearlessly and honestly, not shying away from the tough questions such as “do I judge people?” or “Am I prejudiced?” The most important thing while doing this exercise is not what you think about it, but how you feel! Some statements may bring up deep emotion. Put a tick next to those for further analysis later.

STEP 2: Once you have gone through your core belief list as thoroughly as possible and ticked those beliefs you would like to change, sit quietly and think deeply on them one at a time. This is not a meditation and no technique of any kind is required. You’re just having a quiet chat with yourself in the understanding that change is necessary and it can be achieved by eliminating those beliefs that are creating limitations.

STEP 3: It’s important now to accept the old belief as yours and then just say “this belief is no longer useful to me and I now eliminate it from my thinking. I now believe “I AM (insert the new belief here)”. Sometimes these new beliefs will require some reinforcement and so repetition is necessary. Just keep repeating “I AM…..” until you feel totally comfortable with it and then watch the magic happen!

Belief creates Reality

As sure as night follows day, good flows from positive beliefs, while ‘not so good’ flows from negative ones. Elementary my dear Watson!! And of course, many would say how can we control what we think? And I’m here to tell you WE CAN! Our thoughts are the direct result of our beliefs and by changing our beliefs, we in turn modify our thoughts. Think of all the beliefs we have accumulated over the years and it’s as if we’re wearing multiple pairs of glasses, some dark and others in bright colours, but all a reflection of our beliefs and all changing the focus of our thoughts!

We CAN change our beliefs and in my next blog I’ll show you how. In the meantime let’s be happy, not because of ‘things’, or even because of ‘things that happened’, but simply because it feels good and we deserve it! Love and Light. The Cranky Guru.

Collaboration before Competition

Why is it necessary to compete? Are we so unsure of ourselves that we need to be measured against others to establish our true worth? I heard a story once of a missionary in a particular native village who said to the children “See that big tree over there? I’ve placed beautiful fruit at its base and the first to reach the tree gets it all! On your marks, get set, GO!” The children looked at each other, then holding hands and laughing happily, walked to the tree together. They then sat down as a group and all shared the fruit. We’ve lost our way I feel, since our true worth is never in question. We accomplish so much more ‘with’ than ‘against’. xxx

THE ‘CORE BELIEF’ CHECKLIST

Following on from yesterday’s statement “We are not fully conscious until we know the contents of our conscious mind, including all core beliefs”, I thought I’d offer a ‘core beliefs’ check list so we can examine more closely the contents of our conscious minds. The idea is to simply repeat the list (or make up your own list if you prefer) and see if the words resonate with who we are.

If there is resistance of any kind, then pause for reflection before continuing. Please feel free to share any feedback on this exercise.

WHAT WE THINK, WE CREATE

“The Human Race is totally obsessed with thought, and our minds are constantly cluttered with thoughts and ideas. This is exhausting! We all understand there are ‘things’, and the space around things. By the same token, there is ‘thought’ and the space around thought. To enter this joyful and relaxing space, we don’t need to ‘do’ or ‘switch’ anything. We simply need to be fully in the moment, and awareness arises naturally. This can be done by simply focusing on one’s breathing, or by ‘focusing vertically’. I also often take a mental step back to become the ‘observer’ of my thoughts. ie.
